Finally....

Yay! I finally graduated nursing school on May 7! I took my boards May 20, and am waiting to get my results. It is nerve-wrecking this waiting 10 business days! Aaahhh!!! Lol!!! I got a job (if I passed that is) at the local hospital and should be starting June 15, which is such a blessing. Many of the 94 in our graduating class have been unable to find jobs. My divorce was finalized April 30, which was at least a small bit of legal reassurance. The fight will appearantly never end, but at least there's less stress over the legalities.....for now anyway. Who knows what the future will hold. I never even know from day to day. It always depends on what mood the ex is in. And last but not least, today is my baby girls 5th birthday!! Yay for my big girl!!! So lots of excitment around here lately. I hope that I will be getting to work and getting into a routine around here and then will be able to start recording for Librivox again. I'm going to try to do some recording of the next few weeks while I wait to hear from my test and my job. It will help keep my mind occupied.

Well, I hope that everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day!!! Thanks for stopping by if you did! Lol!!!

Mill on the Floss and Cecilia

I just completed my last chapter of The Mill on the Floss by George Eliot. It only likes 2 more chapters being complete. :) I can't wait to download it and listen to the whole story!!

I'm also still recording some chapters for Cecilia: Memoirs of an Heiress by Frances Burney. I only like one chapter I've signed up for, but it still has several chapters available, so I'm sure I'll read some more.

On the nursing school front, I completed my last graded clinical day this past week. I like one more non-graded day, then it's all lecture, 2 more regular tests, and the final. Then, this semester will be DONE! Yay!!

Thanks so much for visiting and I pray that you will have a wonderful day today!!

Tom Jones and The Mill on the Floss

Hello again! Just wanted to pop in a message about my current readings. I've done one section in Tom Jones by Henry Fielding, and two sections in The Mill on the Floss by George Eliot. I am also reading a few more sections in Cecilia: Memoirs of an Heiress by Frances Burney. I tell you, I really enjoy doing the volunteer reading as much as I enjoy listening to the multitude of completed projects available. Thanks so much to everyone at Librivox who make it all possible! Now that I've found Librivox and Gutenberg, I would be lost without them.

Blessings,
(: Amanda :)

Phineas Finn & Cecilia Memoirs of an Heiress

I finished the chapters I volunteered for in Mr. Hogarth's Will, which was a wonderful story that I stayed up all night one night to finish. Then, I quickly recorded an orphaned chapter in Phineas Finn by Anthony Trollope. I have most recently recorded some of the chapters in Cecilia: Memoirs of an Heiress by Frances Burney. It is a really lovely story too. My third semester of nursing school began today, so I will be very busy with that and have a terrible feeling I will not be able to do anywhere near the amount of "joy reading" I like to do. Just 10 more months though and I will be finished. That is if all goes well! ;)

Blessings to all!

Mr. Hogarth's Will

Hello! I'm currently recording chapters of Mr. Hogarth's Will by Catherine Helen Spence. It is a very nice story so far. I really think that Jane, Elsie, Peggy, and Francis are lovely characters. I hope things work out nicely for the girls in the end. For anyone interested in this book, visit:

Hello. I guess this being my first post I ought to do a little introduction of myself. I am Amanda, daughter of 29 yrs, wife of 11 yrs, mom of 8 yrs & 4yrs respectively. I am currently a stay-at-home wife, mom, and college student studying to become a registered nurse. While loving and serving the Lord, my family, my friends, and my fellow man (especially those who are in need of a nurse ;}) are very important to me, I also confess to being very often sidetracked by another love: reading. At current I am devoting as much time as possible to volunteer reading for www.librivox.org which is such a blessing to me that I feel I really need to give something back to them. You see, it is just so convenient to download and listen to books on my mp3 player and still be able to do housework, etc. Anyhow, I guess this is sufficient for a first post.

Wishing many blessings to all,
(: Amanda :)
